Hand Your Worries to God Print

I’ve never found it helpful in a moment of anxiety to be told not to worry. Worry doesn’t simply disappear on command. Our God is with us in it, though, waiting to carry it for us. Even when I cannot command the worry away, I can wrap it up and hand it to God who cares for me.

The imagery on this poster was inspired by the Gospel of Matthew.

“Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life?

Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you?”

While our worries might not disappear like magic, we can rest in the Lord who cares for us and is working for our good.‭
